Hilton Head Island – Three employees have joined the staff at Community Foundation of the Lowcountry.

Jill Dawson will serve as a program associate. In this role, Jill will assist with organizational development and opportunity grants. She will also manage the Community Foundation’s Lowcountry Volunteer Connections program and serve as fund liaison for both scholarship funds and PEARLS of Hampton County, a women’s giving circle based in Hampton County.

Jill received a bachelor of business administration degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and a juris doctor from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Jill was employed at Dills Law Firm, LLC in Bluffton, served as clerk of court on Hilton Head Island and worked at several other law firms, both locally and in Ohio.

 

Julia Moore fills a program associate position, as well. She will be assisting with competitive grants. Additionally, she will manage the Community Foundation’s The Giving Marketplace platform and serve as fund liaison for nonprofit agency endowment funds and for Women in Philanthropy, a Beaufort County-based women’s giving circle.

Julia has a bachelor’s degree in public policy, with a nonprofit leadership concentration, from Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. She earned a national certification in nonprofit management form the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Georgia State University Chapter. Julia has held nonprofit positions with the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, Ga., The Nature Conservancy of Oregon,  Georgia Conservancy, and the National Park Service. Immediately prior to joining the Community Foundation, Julia was a cruise director for American Cruise Lines. She is also a certified yoga teacher, licensed massage therapist and a certified chiropractor’s assistant.

 

Diane Shott has been hired as an administrative assistant. In this role, Diane provides administrative support to the president and CEO, staff and volunteers.

Diane has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in home economics education from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. Her previous work experience includes teaching positions and serving as assistant to the president at Bluefield College in Bluefield, Va.
