SPARTANBURG, SC – Dr. Russell Booker, Scott Neely, and Laura Ringo to Speak at FinalĀ 2016 Grassroots Leadership Development Institute Session

WHAT: The Grassroots Leadership Development Institute Class of 2016 will participate in its final leadership session at the C.C. Woodson Recreation Center this Saturday. The class will gain knowledge of community partnerships. This session will feature a panel of leaders including Dr. Russell Booker, Superintendent, Spartanburg School District 7; Scott Neely, Director, Project for Community Transformation; and Laura Ringo, Executive Director, Partners for Active Living. The panel will discuss the importance of community partnerships as well as provide lessons learned as it relates to their own collaborative experiences.

The Grassroots Leadership Development Institute is an intense seven-month leadership training program designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skill-set, and resources to be effective in leading change at the grassroots level.

WHEN: Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

WHERE: C.C. Woodson Recreation Center, 210 Bomar Avenue, Spartanburg

This session will not be open to the public, however, media are encouraged to be present for coverage of the event. There will be interview and photo opportunities.
